Phillip Templeton has been in private practice since 2018.  Mr. Templeton specializes in Felony and Federal Criminal Defense.

 Mr. Templeton has extensive experience defending those charged with all types of criminal and traffic offenses, including: OVIs/DUIs, major and minor traffic offenses, misdemeanor and felony criminal charges, TPO/CPO violations, and domestic violence charges. In addition to Franklin County, Mr. Templeton routinely appears in Licking, Delaware, Fairfield, Athens and Madison counties.  He is also a Court appointed lawyer for Franklin, Licking and Athens Counties on all levels of Felony charges.  In addition, Mr. Templeton is also a Federal CJA lawyer; doing court appointed Federal cases of all types.  He has also appeared in the Northern District of Ohio, Western District of Pennsylvania and the Western District of Kentucky.

Prior to entering private practice, Mr. Templeton was at the law firm of Crabbe, Brown & James for 20 years.  While there he was involved in all areas of Civil, Criminal, and Domestic litigation.  Prior to that, Mr. Templeton was an attorney with the Franklin County Public Defender office. During his seven years there, he handled misdemeanor cases, including OVI/ DUI cases. He then spent a number of years representing individuals charged with serious felony offenses. Through this vast experience, Mr. Templeton is now qualified to handle death penalty cases.
